  • Creating Digital Movies

One of the newest additions to a computer is a digital camera. Digital cameras are affordable and provide some additional benefits over traditional cameras. This chapter covers the basics of setting up a digital camera and then working with the picture files. You can print or email the pictures, or you can order prints of the pictures from online photo services.

In addition to using a digital camera, you can scan images from a book or an existing photograph and use those pictures. For instance, you might scan in old family photographs so that you have safe digital copies of important pictures. You can edit, print, and share these photos, just as you can with digital photos captured with a camera. This chapter also covers using a scanner.

You also learn a little about Windows XP's movie program. If you have a digital video camera, you can use it to record movies. You can then download the movies to your computer and edit them using Windows MovieMaker.
