About the Authors

Michael Newell is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who has been managing projects for the past thirty-five years. In that time he has managed such diverse projects as those involving many manufacturing systems, electronics assembly, foundry operations, rubber molding, robotics, aerospace manufacturing, and automation of manufacturing process and control. More recently, Mike has been involved in the management of projects for developing and implementing computer systems.

Mike has been teaching project management professionally for the past fifteen years and has taught in many countries throughout the world. He has recently established a branch of his firm, PSM Consulting, in Moscow, Russia, to teach and consult in project management.

He is Vice President of Operations for PSM Consulting. He has authored several courses in project management. Mike's courses are approved by the Project Management Institute for recertification as a Project Management Professional and as part of the PMI Professional Development Program. PSM Consulting is a Charter Member of the Registered Education Providers of the Project Management Institute.

Marina Grashina is currently the manager of PSM Consulting, Moscow. Marina holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute and has extensive experience in managing international projects. She holds a masters degree in bio-chemistry from Moscow University.

Marina has been a manager for PSM Consulting Services for the past seven years. In this role she has managed many projects for the Canadian government in Moscow. These projects involve the training and education of Russian entrepreneurs in Canadian business practices and the development of small business in Russia. Marina has traveled extensively in Russia and the world working with developing business. She has presented several papers for the International Project Management Association and the Project Management Institute.

Marina has worked extensively in presenting and developing many courses in project management for Russian businesspeople in the areas of project management for both commercial and government projects. She has been the director of the Yeltzin Democracy Fellowship Program.

Marina also has a strong interest in traditional Russian culture and has successfully executed several grants in Russian cultural development and study.
