Scrolling Around a Screen

Sometimes, the text to be displayed is wider (or higher) than your screen. Sometimes it's both. You can use several tools to scroll around in your document.

When the list is longer than your screen, use these methods to move down (and do the opposite to move up):

  • Move down a full page by pressing Page Down on the keyboard.

  • Move down a full page (or to beginning or end) by clicking the scroll buttons on the toolbar.

  • Move down a full page by clicking in the scrollbar below the scroll box.

  • Move large amounts by dragging the scroll box downward (press and hold the mouse button, and then move the mouse). When you release the mouse button, the screen display moves down.

  • Move down one line at a time by clicking the down arrow that appears at the bottom of the scrollbar.

When the document is wider than your screen, you can use the horizontal scrollbar in a similar way to scroll left and right.

TIP

No More Scrolling

When you can't move your scroll box down any further, you know you're at the bottom of the document.
