What to Do Next

  • Revisit chapters 7 through 9. This time, review the evaluations used in each of the three workshops. Note anything you think you ‚ ll need to change (including adding your company logo or other branding).

  • Pretend you are an attendee and fill out a couple of evaluations to be sure they feel comfortable and to get some idea of the time it takes to complete the forms. (Even better, find a few ‚“beta testers ‚½ and have them fill out the forms, asking for feedback about ease of use and the clarity of your questions.)

  • Decide your immediate and long- term approach to evaluation. You may already have an answer in mind. If not, begin to decide how many levels of evaluation are appropriate for your initial training effort. Look back to your needs analysis to examine any stated requirements about evaluation and determine what additional work is needed before launching the training.

These first six chapters serve as an extended checklist to use before presenting the workshops in the remainder of this workbook. You may decide to use the materials as they are. On the other hand, you may by now have identified areas you want to enlarge, or otherwise adapt what ‚ s available here in the book and on the CD. At the very least, the resources here should save you a great deal of time and effort ‚ even if you decide to make extensive changes to the materials. Do what works best for you. You are the training expert for your organization and you will know the optimal combination of pre-written and custom materials to meet your project management training needs. Good luck to you!
