Deployment

Nodes represent deployment targets ‚ in other words, locations on which artifacts can be deployed. An artifact that exists on a particular node is called a deployed artifact; a deployment is the pairing of a deployed artifact with a deployment target.

The details of a deployment may appear in a deployment specification, which specifies a set of properties that determine the execution parameters of, say, a component deployed to a particular node. Figure 9-12 shows an example of a deployment specification.
