Adding MPEG Support

Adding MPEG Support

With AVI/ASF/WMV movies now happily playing on your machine, you can think about adding MPEG support. MPEG is a more universal standard for encoding video and audio, and players are available for almost every operating system out there. Linux is no exception ”there are several players out there. But since we're already using XMMS to listen to MP3s (which are actually MPEG-3 compressed audio files) and watch our AVIs, ASFs, and WMVs, doesn't it make sense to extend XMMS? On that theory, we're about to begin adding MPEG video support to our XMMS application.
