Chapter 7: Changing the Style of the Web User Interface

You can change the user interface of your Web-enabled application by using the WebFacing Properties Style dialog. This project-level feature applies changes to all the pages in your project. In this exercise, I want you to change the text color and font for all highlighted fields. When you finish that task, you will learn how to locate the Cascading Style Sheet .css file to see where the changes are stored.

The Goal of the Exercise

The goal of this exercise is to practice changing a style so that you can tailor the Web interface to your needs. You will open the Properties Style dialog, create a new style, change style settings, specify the new style to use for this project, and refresh the project with the new style.

At the end of this exercise, you should be able to

  • Create a new style using the WebFacing Properties Style dialog

  • Use the field-level properties pages to change the look of your Web pages

  • Change the project to use a different style

  • Work directly with the Cascading Style Sheet .css file
