In this chapter, you'll learn to set up soft proofing so that you can more confidently predict the color output of your printer; perform a gamut check to determine which colors are unprintable on your printer; use Photoshop to generate color-managed proofs; and embed profiles in images to ensure color accuracy.
We demonstrated in Chapter 1 the common problem of printing a color image only to find out that the color in the proof looks very different from how the color appeared on the screen. Implementing color management during the proofing stages can dramatically increase the predictability of what you see on the screen. So far we've created profiles for our devices and properly configured Photoshop's color settings. Now it's time to generate proof images with confidence. |
