Summary

This chapter introduced file access in PHP5 and how to browse and manipulate directories from within our scripts. We also saw some basic ways to copy and delete files. As always, we took a look at the security implications of these features and made sure to note how we can work to use these in a safe and secure manner.

The next chapter looks at letting users upload files to our server, which permits whole new levels of data exchange (and forces us to pay a bit more attention to the design and security of our system).
