Summary
This chapter discussed some of the issues you will face as you begin any module development project, and showed you how to create your development environment.
The chapter also explored creating Visual Studio .NET projects and provided an overview of the DesktopModules solution file contained in the DotNetNuke distribution. You added some controls for your users as well as some classes for data operations in your development DotNetNuke portal, and examined methods for creating a module utilizing Visual Web Developer and the DotNetNuke starter kit.
The next three chapters cover each layer of module development — Database Layer, Business Logic Layer, and Presentation Layer — in detail.
