Note to Self: Keep Computer Secure

Let's say you've followed every tiny little detail in this book (if you have, I am very proud of you!) and you're feeling much more secure about your computer because it's much more secure.

There's still a problem, though. While you're taking your kids to soccer practice or shopping for hair products, the virus writers, spyware mavens, and hackers are remaining uncoiffed and childless because they are busy writing the next generation of Internet threats. Villains don't get many dates.

So your work isn't finished. You still need to fight the futurefuture threats that is. You can do that by taking a few minutes every day or so, 30 minutes each week, and maybe an hour every month to keep abreast of emerging security issues.

To that end, here are a series of easy security maintenance tips. One little note: The frequency I recommend is just a guideline. I don't want to schedule you into oblivion. If you do most of them with any kind of reasonable frequency, you'll be ahead of the game.
