In this chapter we looked at the additional layered product requirements when installing RAC on operating systems such as Linux and Windows. During these discussions the installation process for both the Linux operating system and installation and configuration of the CFS for the Windows O/S was also discussed. CFS is a new file system feature introduced by Oracle in Version 9i Release 2 that removes the requirement of raw devices for RAC on Windows O/S.
This is the last chapter in the book. Part IV contains appendices.
