Mozilla Address Book

Mozilla provides a full featured address book where you can store email addresses and other information, such as addresses, phone numbers, titles, etc., for contacts. You can have more than one address book for different categories of contacts. By default, two address books are set up for you: Personal Address Book and Collected Addresses.

To access the address book, click the address book icon in the lower right section of Mozilla. The window in Figure 17-9 opens.

In the address book, each contact has a card. In the figure, four address books appear in the sidebar. Two are default Mozilla address books. The last two are address books created by the user. To create one, click File and select New->Address Book.

In the figure, the LinuxBook address book is open. It contains two cards. The first card is open, showing information for John W Boss. To sort the address book, click View. Select View->Sort by.

You can search your address book. Click Tools and select Search Addresses. A window similar to Figure 17-8 opens, where you can define search queries. The first field provides a drop-down list that defines what to search, such as Any Name, Email, Work Phone, etc. The second field specifies a type of match, such as contains, doesn't contain, begins with, etc. You type the search terms into the third field. So, you might define a search like: Any Name contains Smith.
