Chapter 6. ordering hardcover photobooks

In September of 2004, Adobe Systems and Eastman Kodak teamed up to provide Elements users with new ways to share photos, both online and in print. This collaboration is officialy known as Adobe Photoshop Services, Provided by Ofoto. Ofoto is Kodak's online photo subsidiary. I'll be referring to it as Adobe Photoshop Services (APS) and Ofoto for the rest of this book.

One of the APS products you can order is a printed hardcover book starring your very own photos. Choose one of the album styles that bears a yellow Order Online medallion, to create an album that you can order as a hardcover book.

Album covers come in a variety of materials, the most expensive being leather. A window cut out of the front cover lets part of the first page show through. (The Book album styles help you place a photo directly below this window, so that the image shows through when the cover is closed.)

The hardcover books measure 10.25 by 9 inches. The interior pages are fairly heavy weight, archival quality, coated stockthat is, fairly thick paper with a low acid content (so it will last a long time) and a smooth glossy finish. The smallest photobook you can order contains 20 pages (10 sheets of paper, printed on both sides). Once you've filled those 20 pages, you can add more pages, two at a time, up to the maximum of 40 pages.
