  • Click an icon at the top of the Properties window to view more data. The Tags view shows categories, tags, and collections to which the photo belongs. The History view shows the photo's place in a version set (see Chapter 3). The Metadata view shows data recorded by your digital camera, such as camera make and F-stop.

  • In the Create Category dialog, clicking the Choose Color button opens a color picker. Choose the category tag's color; click OK.

  • You can change the order of tags, categories, sub-categories, collections, and collection groups in the Organize Bin. In Organizer, choose Edit > Preferences > Tags and Collections. In the Enable Manual Sorting Option section, check the Manual radio button for Collections, for example. You can now drag collections listed in the bin to change their order.

  • If you want to assign the image that appears in the tag icon right away, you must import it. Click the Edit Icon button in the Create Tag dialog. The Edit Tag Icon dialog appears. Click the Import button; the Import Image for Tag Icon dialog appears. It's a file-import dialog that displays thumbnails of photo files. Navigate to the photo file you want to use as the icon image. Click the photo's thumbnail in the dialog, then click the Open button. The file-import dialog closes and the photo appears in the Edit Tag Icon dialog; click the OK button to close that dialog. Your selected photo now appears as the icon in the Create Tag dialog. Finish entering your tag name and notes; then click the OK button to close that dialog.

  • You can edit a tag's name, notes, and/or icon at any time. Click the tag's name in the Organize Bin to select the tag. Then click the Edit Tag button at the top of the Organize Bin (the small pencil icon) to open the Edit Tag dialog.

  • To change the size of icons in the Organize Bin, choose Edit > Preferences > Tags and Collections. Click the radio button for the size you like under Tag Display.
