About the Authors

Eric Schurman
Eric is currently a development lead at Microsoft, where he oversees the development of two large external Web sites. He has also worked on computer-based training programs and back-end tools for managing and creating Web-based content. He has held positions with the U. S. Department of State, the University of Washington, Aldus, Adobe Systems, and the Academy of Computer Technology in software development, technical support, training, and instructional design. Eric was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and has traveled extensively. When time permits, he enjoys physical, outdoor sports, including mountain biking, snowboarding, and rollerblading. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1994, earning bachelor s degrees in both Zoology and Psychology.

Bill Pardi
After completing a bachelor s degree in broadcast production at Cedarville College in Ohio, Bill earned a master s in Television/Radio/Film at Syracuse University. He decided on a career in multimedia software development after his first encounter with the subject in a course at Syracuse. Following his work as a developer on several multimedia reference titles with Multicom Publishing in Seattle, Bill accepted a position with Microsoft as a program manager. He is now lead program manager and works with a talented team of people creating interactive training software. Bill s after-work activities include writing about technology and playing with his two boys. Originally from New York, he currently lives in Edgewood, Washington, with his wife Jodie and their two sons, Cody and Ryan.
