About the Technical Editors

Steve Heckler is president of Accelebrate (http://www.accelebrate.com), an Atlanta-based IT training and application development firm specializing in Java, .NET, ColdFusion, Flash, and related technologies. An avid Java developer and trainer, Steve's experience with Java dates all the way back to the first release of the 1.0 SDK.

Before founding Accelebrate, Steve served nearly seven years as vice president and president of a leading U.S. East Coast IT training firm. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Stanford University.

Andrew Yang is a senior Java architect with the Sun Software Services (formerly known as Sun Java Center). He has more than 15 years of experience in computer technology and software development. In recent years, he has focused on designing and implementing scalable enterprise applications using object-oriented methodologies, J2EE technologies, and design patterns. He has led the design and development of several enterprise applications currently in production. He received his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 1991 and is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has given presentations in various technical conferences, published articles in technical journals, contributed book chapters, and has been awarded two U.S. patents. He is also actively involved in local Java user group activities.
