To make the purchase requisition system run, follow these steps:

1. Run the install program on the companion CD to copy the sample files from the CD to your hard drive. Alternatively, copy all the files on the companion CD from the directory \Samples\Ch11 to a convenient location on your hard disk. The default location this file structure is copied to is C:\TravisBook\Ch11 if you use the installer on the companion CD.
2. Create the ODBC data source names (DSNs) in Microsoft Windows 2000; the DSNs will act as handles for accessing the database files. From the start menu, select Settings and click Control Panel. In Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools. In the Administrative Tools folder, you'll find the Data Sources (ODBC) icon. Double-click this icon to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box. In other versions of Windows, you can get to this tool by double-clicking the ODBC Data Sources icon in Control Panel.
3. You will create eight system DSN entries, which are listed in Table 11-5. Click on the System DSN tab. Click Add. Select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and then click Finish. Enter a Data Source Name from Table 11-5. Click the Select button and find the file, which was copied to your local drive in step 1. Click OK. Repeat this step for each of the databases listed in Table 11-5.
4. Create two Web shares. Use Windows Explorer to find the folder C:\TravisBook\Ch11. You should see the two company directories. Right-click on ToiCarz and select Sharing. Select the Web Sharing tab. Click Share This Folder and accept the defaults in the Edit Alias dialog box. Repeat this step for the ToyCarParts directory, except click the Execute (Includes Scripts) option button. This will allow the OmniMark programs to execute in the ToyCarParts directory.
