The Organize Toolbar

The Organize Toolbar

The Organize toolbar is visible when you are in the Organize view. It contains tools that let you share your photos with others in a variety of ways. You can print your photos in various formats, create a slideshow to play on your computer, export a QuickTime slideshow for others, order professional prints over the Internet, order a professionally bound hardcover book, create a web site and publish it with blinding speed, burn your photos to a CD or DVD , and more.

2.

Click the "Print" icon in the Organize toolbar, shown above.

The "Style" pop-up menu offers these options.

Share Photos through Email

One way to share your photos is to send them to someone through email. iPhoto makes it incredibly easy to do just that.

1.

Select one or more photos in the Viewing area; you can choose photos from any album or from the Library.

To select multiple photos, hold the Command key as you click on your photo selections.

Note

If you use AOL, go to the Preferences and choose "America Online" as your email application. The "Email" button in the lower pane will turn into an "AOL" button and you can send photos to AOL users.

Note

If you use any other email program, people receiving your photos who use older versions of America Online may have trouble seeing the iPhotos you send this way.

2.

Click the "Email" icon in the Organize toolbar to open the "Mail Photo" window (shown below-left).

3.

In the "Mail Photo" window, choose a photo size from the pop-up menu, and choose whether to include titles and comments that you may have added to photos (shown on page 24). Click the "Compose" button.

4.

If you want, add a message to the email window that opens (shown to the right). Your photos are already sized and placed in the message area.

5.

Enter an email address and click the "Send" button in the message toolbar. Your Macconnects to the Internet and sends the photos along with your message.

Order Traditional Prints of Your Photos

Order professional prints of any photo or collection of photos from Kodak.

1.

Make sure you're connected to the Internet.

2.

Select an album or a group of photos within an album or in the Library.

3.

Click the "Order Prints" button (shown, left) in the Organize toolbar.

4.

If the button in the lower-right says "Set Up Account" instead of "Buy Now," click it. You will be asked to start an Apple account and provide your name , address, and credit card information, as well as your shipping preferences.

If you already have an account set up, the "Set Up Account" window that opens lets you sign in with your Apple ID and password.

5.

Select the size and quantity you want of each photo in the "Order Prints" window:

In the top-right corner you can "Quick Order" 4x6 prints. Click the top arrow button to order one 4x6 of each photo in the list.

Click again to change the order to two 4x6 prints of each photo. Every click adds to the order. To lower the quantity, click the bottom arrow button.

You can also buy individual prints of any photo you selected in iPhoto, like a 16x20 or four wallet- sized prints.

As you enter a quantity for each photo, the total cost amount is instantly calculated at the bottom of the window. To remove the order for a photo, type "0" (zero, not the letter O) in the quantity field next to it.

6.

Click the "Buy Now" button. Depending on the shipping option you chose in the "Ship Via" pop-up menu, you could have your prints in just a few days. Wow.

A yellow triangle warns that a photo's resolution is too low for the print size listed.

A yellow triangle alert next to a certain print size in the "Order Prints" window indicates that photo's resolution is not suitable for a quality print at that size. A smaller size may be available without a warning.
