8.4. VIDEO AND PROJECTORS8.4.1. Video Jumps to Full Screen When ProjectedTHE ANNOYANCE: The video in my presentation plays fine (yay!), but when I hook up the projector, the video clips play full screen instead of on just part of the slide. THE FIX: Toggle the video so it plays only on the projector, and not on the laptop. You might also try changing your hardware acceleration. (See Chapter 1 for more about toggling the view and for specifics on how to change your hardware acceleration.) You can set some video cards to display an overlay at a full screen, which might also help. To turn this off on ATI and Nvidia cards, right-click the desktop and choose Properties, click the Settings tab, and then click the Advanced button. Look for an Overlay or Overlay Controls tab (see Figure 8-25). Change the Overlay Display Mode option to "Same on all" (ATI cards) or adjust the video overlay zoom control settings (Nvidia cards). These controls may not be in the same place or even available in all drivers, and you may need to have your projector or other external video hooked up in order to set them. Figure 8-25. Adjusting your video card's Overlay Controls may help if your video jumps to full screen when projected.8.4.2. Video Doesn't Play When ProjectedTHE ANNOYANCE: No matter what I do, I can't get my video to show on the projector. The audio plays, but all I see on the projector is a black box. THE FIX: Toggle the video so it plays only on the projector, and not on the laptop (see "Video Doesn't Show on Projector" in Chapter 1 for more about toggling the view). |
