Summary

Monitor-based debugging certainly does not provide all of the capability that comes with some of the desktop development environments available today. However, monitor-based debugging does provide an environment that can reside in the system with the application. Monitor-based debugging, therefore, lets you debug in the field without the need for a pod connection or even an additional serial port. This convenience can prove priceless. Monitor-based debugging does not prevent any of the more sophisticated development environments from just lying on top of the monitor platform.
