Newsgroup Services

We've reached the end of this book. Both of us hope that you've found it useful and perhaps also amusing to read. More than anything else, we hope that you're going to build applications built on the ideas put forward in the book.

Thanks to the experience we've gained from the two technical reports we've written and published before on scalable Windows applications and from our training classes, we know that many developers need help solving real problems when they start to implement our ideas. So they write to us, asking us to help them. Unfortunately, we're only a small company, and it's not possible for us to find the time needed to give everybody a good answer. But we've decided to furnish the help needed by our readers in another way.

As you read this, a special newsgroup for peer services between you and other readers of this book is available on our Web site, which you can find by visiting http://www.adbark.com (or http://www.adbark.se for our Swedish readers). We know from other newsgroups that developers love to help one another, and we hope this is going to be the case with our newsgroup as well. It goes without saying that we're going to spend time browsing through messages in that newsgroup too, seeing if we as well can offer a helping hand when needed. But the main value of the newsgroup will come from your peers.

You'll find other pieces of information that might be useful in the newsgroup as well as on our Web site. We have a habit of publishing tips and tricks on our Swedish Web site, and we're going to extend that service to our international Web site as well.

Templates and Wizards

At least two interesting projects are well on their way toward adding template and wizard support to the architecture put forward in this book. Because of nondisclosure agreements, we can't tell you too much about them at the time of writing this, but we can mention that ADB-Arkitektur and Rational have collaborated to provide "support for WinDNA application development" in an upcoming Rational Rose release. That support is based on the architecture presented in our technical reports and in this book. Because of this close collaboration, Rational has agreed to allow us to preview this Windows DNA support at our Windows DNA Training Spring 2000 event in April 2000. As soon as we're allowed, we'll tell you more on our Web site as well as in the newsgroup mentioned in this chapter. So drop in every now and then, won't you?

Let's end the book by wishing you the best of luck and many great Windows DNA applications!
