Chapter 3. Understanding CSA Groups and Hosts

 < Day Day Up >

This chapter covers the following topics:

  • The relationship between groups and hosts

  • Understanding CSA groups

  • Understanding CSA hosts

The Cisco Security Agent (CSA) architecture is composed of many components that you must understand when attempting to efficiently and effectively deploy the product in an enterprise environment. Deploying the agent in the most efficient way possible translates to several hours per month saved in the future as a result of lowering the administrative over-head. As in any project, careful planning pays off. You should treat the deployment of CSA no differently than any other large-scale technical project. This chapter examines the first two logical components of CSA: groups and hosts.
