UNC (Universal Naming Convention)

A naming convention that is used to define a resource on a Windows Server 2003 server network. A share named DOCS on the server SERVER1 could be accessed by using the UNC path \\SERVER1\DOCS.



unicast address

A TCP/IP address that is used for host-to-host communications. Unicast addresses are the most commonly used types of TCP/IP addresses.
