Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0

To install IIS 4 on Windows NT, you must obtain the Windows NT Option Pack from http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/downloads/recommended/NT4OptPk/.

Before you install the Option Pack, be sure that your system meets the following requirements:

• Internet Explorer (IE) 4.01 or above

• Windows NT Service Pack 3 or above

If it does not, both IE 4.01 and NT Service Pack 3 come with the Option Pack. Install them if your are running older versions.

When you launch the Option Pack installer, you see an introduction screen. Click the Next button. You see the End User License Agreement dialog box. Click the Accept button to continue.

If you have a previous version of IIS installed (such as IIS 2 or IIS 3), you see an upgrade dialog box. Click the Upgrade Plus button to continue. If you are not upgrading, you see the Setup dialog box, shown in Figure B.1.

Make sure that Internet Information Server (IIS) is selected, and then click the Next button to finish the installation.
