Mailing, Dialing, and Initiating a NetMeeting Session

[Previous] [Next]

The menu that appears when you click the toolbar's Action button allows you to send e-mail to one or more contacts, dial a contact's telephone number, or initiate a NetMeeting session:

  • If you choose Send Mail, Address Book activates your default e-mail client and addresses a message to the selected contact's default e-mail address. If you select a group in the Folders And Groups pane and select multiple members in the right pane (hold down the Ctrl key while you select), the Send Mail command will address the message to all those you select.
  • If a selected individual has more than one e-mail address, the Send Mail To command becomes available. This command works like the Send Mail command, except that it lets you choose the e-mail address you want to use.
  • If you choose Dial, the New Call dialog box that appears lets you choose numbers in the selected contact's record or enter a different number altogether. (This command activates the new Phone Dialer program, which is discussed in Chapter 22, "Using Phone Dialer.")
  • If you choose Internet Call, Address Book activates NetMeeting— provided you have entered conferencing information in the selected contact's record.
