Part III: Exploring Tablet PC s Unique Apps

Chapter List

Chapter 7: Thinking Ink with Journal
Chapter 8: Stuck on Sticky Notes
Chapter 9: Kicking Back with eBooks and InkBall

In this part . . .

Tablet PC is driven by Windows XP for Tablet PC, which is a superset of the Windows XP operating system. Superset means that there's more to this operating system than there is to regular old Windows XP. Included in this system are features that enable ink and speech functionality, and also some handy applications that take advantage of those features.

In this part, you discover Windows Journal, an application that's designed to work optimally with ink input. Windows Journal allows you to write directly into a document and search and organize your handwriting or convert it to text. You also get to play around with Sticky Notes, a neat little application for adding ink and voice notes to any document; and you may get addicted to a fun little pen input game called Inkball. Finally, because Tablet PC is such a great size computer on which to read electronic books, there's information about using Microsoft Reader and eBooks.
