To practice using Undo, first type a little text, and then select some of the text that you typed.
Press the Delete key to delete the selected text.
Click the Undo button on the Standard toolbar. (Click the button itself, not the down arrow to its right.)
INTRODUCTION
Word lets you undo most actions, including typing, deleting, moving, copying, and formatting text. One of the best aspects of Word's Undo feature is that it lets you undo multiple actions, not just your most recent one. As you experiment with Undo, keep in mind that there are a few actions Word cannot undo, such as opening, saving, or printing a document.
Word restores the deleted text. If you keep clicking the Undo button, Word reverses previous actions one by one.
To undo several actions at once, first click the down arrow to the right of the Undo button.
Click any action in the list to undo everything back to, and including, the action you click.
TIP
Using the Redo Button
To the right of the Undo button on the Standard toolbar is the Redo button. Click this button if you have used Undo to reverse an action and then decide that you want to perform the action after all.
TIP
Undoing Actions with a Keyboard Shortcut
The keyboard shortcut for clicking the Undo button is Ctrl+Z . If you keep pressing Ctrl+Z, Word undoes actions one by one.
