The small horizontal bar at the very end of a Word document. The end mark is only visible in Normal view, and it doesn't print.
field
A holding place for information that can be updated. Typical fields in Word include the date field, which displays the current date, and the page number field, which displays the correct page number on each page in a document.

first-line indent
Only the first line of a paragraph is indented.
floating toolbar
A toolbar that is located somewhere over the Word window, not along one of the edges. A floating toolbar has a title bar, which you can drag to move the toolbar around.
font
In the Windows environment, the term font refers to a typeface, or character shape, such as Times New Roman or Arial.
footer
Text that repeats at the bottom of every page.
full menu
A menu that displays the full set of commands in the menu. If you are using personalized menus, you can click the down arrow at the bottom of a menu to display the full menu. If you are not using personalized menus, you see full menus all of the time.
