Using Winipcfg

Windows 9x/Me users can see their system's TCP/IP configuration by running the Winipcfg utility. To run Winipcfg , click Start, Run, type Winipcfg , and click OK.

If you're having problems getting connected to the Internet or seeing other computers on the network on a network that uses server-assigned IP addresses, use the Release and Renew buttons to obtain a new IP address from the DHCP server on the network


Winipcfg displays TCP/IP configuration information for all physical and logical TCP/IP-capable adapters installed in a system. To determine the IP address and other information for your network card, select the network card from the Winipcfg main menu. To obtain more information about your TCP/IP configuration, click the More Info button (see Figure WCR.3).
