In this chapter you reviewed the alternate methods for automating tasks and saw some possible guidelines for their respective uses. You learned how to add external tools to the IDE. You saw that you can code an add-in in any of the current Visual Studio .NET development languages, and you can also mix the usage of these languages within an add-in. Finally, you learned how to detect the presence of different languages in the IDE and react accordingly in your add-in.
