Premiere s New Design Templates

Premiere's New Design Templates

If you have ever run short on time or creative ideas on how to set up your titles, look no further. Premiere comes with a set of premade templates to suit just about every production genre you can think of. Granted, I can't see many professional broadcasting stations using these templates, but I do see them as extremely beneficial to hobbyists and event videographers. These people can save a tremendous amount of time and introduce a whole new level of creativity to their video productions.

To select a new design template, do the following:

  1. Click the Template button located at the top of the Adobe Title Designer interface. A new Templates window appears, listing all the default templates that come with Premiere, as shown in Figure 9.13.

Figure 9.13. Premiere's Adobe Title Designer comes with templates to fit just about any style of video production.

  2. Navigate through the folders to find the style that matches your style of project. You see a preview of the template on the right side of the screen.

  3. Click the Apply button to bring that template into the Adobe Title Designer.

  4. Highlight each of the text areas, and type in the new text.

You now have full control to add text to the template and create your own custom version of that template. These time-saving designs can really improve the overall look of your productions, especially if you are not a graphic designer or you don't have the budget to hire out for those services.
