Right Minds

I’m thinking this goes without saying, but as a general rule your average hostage taker is not entirely in his right mind. Or at least what most of us would consider our right minds.

But here’s a question for you: How many people do you think are “sane”? I mean, no one’s completely normal, except you and I, of course.

But within the established parameters of sanity, how many people do you figure are eating a full bowl of cornflakes in the morning?

According to the FBI statistics I’ve seen, only 70 percent of the population is normal. The rest are psychotics or have personality disorders.

Seventy percent. That means three out of the next ten people you meet are missing a couple of playing cards. Maybe that will help you keep your perspective as you navigate rush hour traffic on the way to work tomorrow.
