Yesterday you learned about the miscellaneous technology areas of WebLogic Server, including the jCom bi-directional bridge between J2EE objects and COM components and the SAX and DOM API support. You learned about the issues involved in setting up a bi-directional communication with COM components and how to configure jCom bridge in the WebLogic Server. For SAX and DOM APIs, you learned in which scenarios or applications each of the APIs are recommended and their pros and cons. Today you will learn about an additional J2EE technology supported by Weblogic Server: the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA). You will learn the details of JCA and its constituents, namely Resource Adapter, Common Client Interface, and the three system contracts: connection management, transaction management, and security contracts. Finally, you will learn how to configure and deploy resource adapters in WebLogic Server. |
