Application 5: Creating Your Own DVD Movies

Application #5: Creating Your Own DVD Movies

After you've edited your home movie into a cinematic masterpiece, you need to share your work with the world. The easiest way to do this is to burn your movie to DVD discs. All you need is a DVD burner and enough RAM to make the process more speedy (or less sluggish) and a big enough hard disk to store your movie during the process.

  • To watch TV on your PC, you'll need to install a television tuner card.

  • To watch DVD movies on your PC, you'll need a DVD drive.

  • To edit home movies on your PC, you'll need to upgrade almost all your components you need lots of memory, a big (and fast) hard disk, a 64MB video card, and either a FireWire connection (for DV camcorders) or a video capture card or device (for older analog camcorders).

  • To burn your movies to DVD, you'll need a DVD burner compatible with the DVD-R format.
