Internal Auctions


You can use auctions to reward and motivate employees. We have previously discussed the difficulty of determining quotas for salespeople when you don’t have enough information to figure out how much each should sell. You could use auctions rather than quotas to assign sales areas. For example, if a new area opens up, you could auction it off to all your salespeople, with the person willing to pay the most getting the area. The auction would not only bring in money but would also result in the area going to the most confident salespeople.
