Image Restore

Restoring a disk (i.e., an image) from tape is easily done by reversing the backup command; however, the disk must be private, because it will be completely overwritten. The command is:

     $ BACKUP/IMAGE/VERIFY -     _$ MUA400:FULLBU.SAV/REWIND/LABEL=FULL -     _$ DUA0:

Selected files and/or directories can be restored from an image backup, too. For instance, to restore all files in the [REPORTS] directory tree from tape back to disk, the following command would be used:

    $ BACKUP/IMAGE/VERIFY -     _$ MUA400:FULLBU.SAV/REWIND/LABEL=FULL/SELECT=[REPORTS...] -     _$ DUA0:[REPORTS...]
