Internet Standards Supported

Replication

In Microsoft Exchange, the process of keeping public folders up to date is called public folder replication . The capabilities of public folders can then be utilized to replicate and control access to the information within an organization. Because data is stored in a public folder, it can be accessed using a newsreader, Web browser, or MAPI client such as Outlook. In addition, you can make a change on any server in a multiserver environment, and those changes are immediately and automatically replicated to all the other servers in the site.

Running in combination with IIS, Exchange supports the HTTP, POP3, NNTP, SSL, and LDAP Internet standards. Exchange data is stored in a public folder, which makes it accessible using a newsreader, Web browser, or MAPI client such as Outlook. In addition, a change made on any server in a multiserver environment is immediately and automatically replicated to all the other servers in the site.
