OLE DB Programmer's Reference

Like tabular data providers, multidimensional data providers are identified in the registry by the OLE DB provider subkey under the provider's class ID. It is possible to create a provider that supports both tabular and multidimensional data. Therefore, in addition to the other required subkeys and values described in the section Provider Registry Entries in Chapter 18: Programming Considerations, providers must have one or both of the following values under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID subkey:

• ProviderCLSID\OLE DB Provider = Description
• ProviderCLSID\OLE DB MD Provider = Description
