Microsoft BizTalk Financial Services Accelerator (FSA) provides customers, partners and System Integrators with a foundation of support for core financial services application infrastructure and business processes. Financial Services is segmented into 3 primary sectors: Securities, Banking and Insurance. Within each of these sectors, there exist protocols for business data interchange. Some protocols overlap. Additionally, there are defined business processes that cross sector boundaries and include the use of the various sector protocols. Some protocols overlap sectors as well in an attempt to ease the burden of implementing the business process.

The Financial Services Accelerator will ship on BizTalk Server 2002 and have identical requirements.
