The topics covered up to this point in the chapter have focused on the core requirements you must work through to achieve a properly considered configuration of Project Server. These requirements are addressed generically in a project management world. The requirement topics I call noncore are those that deal with Project Server–specific customizations that you might not immediately identify as something you want unless you first were made aware of their availability.
SharePoint Team Services pages are customizable using SharePoint administration and, to some degree, using tools in the interface. You may identify nonstandard fields and views within SharePoint screens and apply them to the enterprise.
Project Server allows you to augment and reorder menus. Specify your required changes to Project Server Web Access Menus in this section of the template.
The Project Guide is a new feature within the Project client. You can use enterprise customizations to the Project Guide to enforce workflow and process through step-by-step structured interfaces customized using the base functionality provided out-of-the-box. Enumerate customization requirements in this template section.
You can control the display of Gantt charts throughout Project and Project Web Access by setting options. You can apply various colors and graphic styles to highlight information or customize appearance. List any nonstandard Gantt formats required in this template section.
You may design and save grouping formats for both Project and Project Web Access. List any nonstandard grouping formats required in this template section.
