Even if you’re not an administrator, you are allowed to change some of your user account information. You can change your full name, your password, and the picture used on the login panel. You can also turn on FileVault (see Chapter 19), and you can set Startup Items (see the following section). Open the System Preferences and click the Accounts icon.
You can change everything but your short name on the Password tab; you can see in the preceding illustration that it’s dimmed. You can also access your Address Book Card and change its information. (See Chapter 15 for more on the Address Book.)
You can change your picture on the Picture tab (see the earlier section “Create User Accounts” for more on choosing pictures). You can turn on FileVault encryption from the Security tab (see Chapter 19). And you can set startup items on the Startup Items tab; see the following section for more on using startup items.
