Chapter 16 - Deploying Your Report
Mastering Crystal Reports 9
by Cate McCoy and Gord Maric
Sybex 2003

Once your report is developed, you still are not finished until the end users have the report. Crystal Reports offers many options to deploy the report. Before you can decide how to deploy the report, you need to analyze your end users’ needs. Do they require real-time data from the database or will a static report be sufficient? Then you can decide whether you want to deploy the Crystal Report file, export the file to various formats, such as DOC, XLS, PDF, or HTML, place the report on the end user’s computer, or have the end user get the report from a file or web server.

If you find that Crystal Reports does not offer you enough deployment options, Crystal Decisions also offers Crystal Enterprise and ePortfolio, which work with Crystal Reports to deploy the report. You can also write custom applications to deploy your report.

Once the end user has the report, you are finished.
