About the Author

Michael McCallister has spent the last decade making computing easier for the full spectrum of user levels and experience. He is currently a technical writing consultant with Compuware.

Michael has run a SuSE Linux desktop at home since version 5.3 and knows firsthand how far the distribution has come over the years . He is the author of Computer Certification Handbook , published by Arco Press (2000), and his technology stories have been published in places such as Linux Journal , Java Developer's Journal , Internet Voyager , and Isthmus . He is a member of the Society for Technical Communication, the Milwaukee Linux Users Group, and the National Writers Union.


About the Contributors

Timothy Boronczyk is a native resident of Syracuse, New York. He has been involved in web design since 1998 and has written several articles on PHP programming and other design topics. In his spare time he enjoys photography, listening to and composing music, spending time with friends , solving sudoku puzzles, and sleeping with his feet off the end of the bed.

Emmett Dulaney has worked with UNIX since 1990 and Linux since its debut. He is the author of several books from Novell Press including Novell Linux Desktop 9 Administrator's Handbook and the upcoming Novell Linux Practicum Lab Manual .

Robert J. Shimonski is a well-known industry specialist, speaker, trainer, and author. He works within today's most challenging technological and business environments. Rob brings proven frontline industry knowledge to the reader. He can be found online at www.RSNetworks.net.

Robb H. Tracy has a Master of Science degree in instructional technology from Utah State University.
