Getting organized

Getting organized!

The first project is all about using the Organizer in Photoshop Elements 4 and one that you should definitely not miss.

The Organizer is a powerful database that displays all of your images from folders throughout your system in one Photo Browser. Now you can see all your images from your separate photo files, email attachments, and deeply nested folders in one place. The Photo Browser allows you to scroll through photos and adjust their size from small thumbnails to full size. The Timeline bar above lets you quickly locate photos from a specific month and year.

In the Organizer, you will find Tags and Collections. These are valuable organization tools that work in conjunction with the Organizer's database. Collections lets you pull together files from anywhere on your computer to create groupings like a photo album. Tags let you mark photos and put them into categories and subcategories. Many of the projects in the book use them, so you will want to be familiar with how they work.
