You can review the formatting associated with text in your document to see the details of exactly what formatting is applied to the text.
Select the text containing the formatting you want to review.
Click Format.
Click Reveal Formatting.
The Reveal Formatting task pane appears.
A portion of the selected text appears here.
Formatting details for the selected text appear here.

Click the link for the type of change you want to make.
In this example, the Indents and Spacing tab of the Paragraph dialog box appears.
Select the options you want to change.
Click OK.
Word applies the formatting changes.
The information in the Reveal Formatting task pane updates.
Click anywhere to continue working.
You can click the Close icon () to close the Reveal Formatting task pane.
What happens if I click the Distinguish style source option below the Reveal Formatting task pane?
When you click this option ( changes to ), Word changes the appearance of the Reveal Formatting task pane to include the names of any styles used in your document. For more information on using styles, see the section “Apply Formatting Using Styles.”
Suppose that I want the font to be 18 points instead of 16 points; must I change each affected selection individually?
No. You can select one block of text and move the mouse over the Selected Text area. Click that appears and click Select All Text With Similar Formatting. Make the font change, and Word changes all selected text. Also see the section “Apply Formatting Using Styles.”
