Add a Clip Art Image


You can add clip art images to your document to help get your message across.

You can locate images using the Microsoft Clip Organizer window or by searching for images.

COPY IMAGES FROM THE CLIP ORGANIZER WINDOW

  1. Click Insert.

  2. Click Picture.

  3. Click Clip Art.

    The Clip Art task pane appears.

  4. Click the Organize clips link.

    Note 

    The Add Clips to Organizer window appears when you have not cataloged picture, sound, and motion files on your hard disk. Click Now to catalog your media files.

    Word copies the image to the clipboard.

How can I copy more than one image to the clipboard?

To copy more than one image to the clipboard, follow these steps:

  1. Complete steps 1 to 4 in this section, clicking your document on the Windows Taskbar.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Click Office Clipboard.

  4. Click Microsoft Clip Organizer on the Windows Taskbar.

  5. Complete steps 5 to 8 for each image you want available; then complete steps 9 to 11.

  6. Click an image in the Office Clipboard pane to add it to your document.

When you locate an image using the Microsoft Clip Organizer window, you copy one you want to the Windows clipboard so that you can paste it into your document.

  1. Click the Close icon (image from book) to close the Microsoft Clip Organizer.

    A message appears, asking if you want to make the image you copied to the clipboard available after closing the Microsoft Clip Organizer.

  2. Click Yes.

    Your document reappears.

  3. Click in the location where you want the image to appear.

  4. Click the Paste icon (image from book The image appears in your document.

SEARCH FOR CLIP ART IMAGES

  1. If you closed the Clip Art task pane, complete steps 1 to 3 in the subsection “Copy Images from the Clip Organizer Window.”

  2. Click here and type one or more words to describe the image you want to find.

  3. Click Go.

You have the opportunity to limit the search to specific collections. Searching takes less time if you limit the search, but the search may not display as many clip art images if you limit it.

What is a collection?

A collection is a group of clip art images that are related. Office Collections contains clip art images available on your hard drive or on your Office CD. Web Collections contains images available at Microsoft Office Online; you must be connected to the Internet to use Web Collections.
