Answers

1.

When you export a master, a duplicate of the original file that was initially imported into Aperture is exported to the location of your choice. When you export a version, any edits that you've made are applied to the original master image, and the resulting file is exported in the format that you specify.

2.

You might want to move your master images if you need to free up space on the disk where they're stored. Or you might want to consolidate your images to ensure that everything you need for a project is in one location. You can move the masters to another disk or to a CD or DVD, and keep the references to those masters in your Aperture Library.

3.

You can back up projects to a CD or DVD by exporting them using the Export Project command, and then copying the duplicate projects to a CD or DVD and burning it.

4.

When you create or update a vault, your entire Library is backed up. The Export Project command allows you to back up individual projects.
