Recipe 1.33. Creating Mirror Images

Problem

You want to flip an element along the horizontal or vertical axis to create a mirror image.

Solution

Use Modify Transform Flip Horizontal (or Vertical)

Discussion

Flipping an element inverts it through its center point along either the vertical or horizontal axis. Flipping an element creates a mirror image and therefore differs from rotation. To flip the selected element, choose Modify Transform Flip Horizontal (or Vertical). You can flip along both axes and unflip by flipping again.

You can create a bilaterally symmetrical design by duplicating a design, flipping it, and repositioning it.
