When calling it out on the page, oftentimes it's desirable to have the quotation appear different from the rest of the text on the page. It's helpful to cue the reader into knowing that this portion of the page is from a different source, breaking (in a good way) the nor-mal flow of content.
Method A is marked up no differently from any other paragraph on the page, so unfortunately we have no easy way to style it differently. The double quotation marks themselves are the only visual cue that this is indeed a quotation.
I should also mention that in this method and the two that follow, the — is the HTML entity for an em dash, or one of these: —. I'm using the decimal notation for this entity, which is the most reliable across browsers. Alternatively, one could use — as well.
